Cheers!

Two of my close friends from college came up to San Francisco this weekend, and we sure made the most of our time together.  It was a gloriously warm day in the city on Saturday, so we laid out a few blocks from my apartment at Fort Mason with my roomie and another SF friend.  After a shenanigan-filled Saturday evening, we had a lazy Sunday; mimosa brunch, The Lucky One, a quick trip to a suddenly chilly beach, and a yummy dinner.

Love these girls.
My Britt Britt.
All of SF came out to play in the sun.
Fun night.
Hoisting Brittany closer to her man.
In spite of freezing temperatures, I did stick my toe in the water.  That's right, just a toe ha.

The Golden Gate Bridge is somewhere back there.
Yum! Definitely going back to Naked Fish.
Sometimes I worry that I will never be as happy as I was in college.  I made the most of my three and a half years at UCLA, and now that all my friends are all spread out, it's harder for us to all get together.  But weekends like this remind me that my friendships with these ladies and the new memories we make together will bring a new kind of post-college happiness I never imagined possible.

I Love April

Aside from the fact that April means sunshine and spring flowers, April is an amazing month because of all the birthdays jam-packed into it!  Some of my favorite memories of these ladies happened when celebrating their special day.

Ashley is celebrating her birthday oh so soon.  Freshman year of college, we had a blast celebrating her 19th birthday after we finished spring recruitment.  Can you believe how fast time flies?  As we move on to other adventures, I will always treasure our college memories... especially a few in particular from our first year of college.  Excited to see her conquer the world this year!

Babies.
My sweet friend Nicoley will be celebrating her birthday in Spain this month.  She was my right-hand woman throughout college, and someone I could always count on to take part in all kinds of shenanigans with me.  My 21st birthday came after hers, but I had a blast enabling her 21st birthday celebration.  I keep telling her to move to SF whenever she decides to come back to America.

Photo from my birthday which happens to be 4 days after Nicole's!
And Kimi, my first best friend, is also celebrating her birthday this month.  I was so lucky to have a friend like her growing up, and will never forget the sewing classes we took together or the countless hours we spent playing American Girl Dolls.  Even though we don't see each other as much living on opposite ends of California, I still feel like a wide-eyed, open-hearted 10-year-old when we hang out.  Best. feeling. ever.

Notice the American Girl doll tucked under my arm? Yup.
Including Easter, this will be a month of celebration - whether or not I will actually be with my favorite April babies on their birthdays.  Happy April everyone!

I Was Made for Sunny Days

It was such a gorgeous, sunny day in the South Bay today.  I wanted to soak up enough sunshine to last until summertime!  Everything seemed to have a little more sparkle thanks to all the glorious light.  I spent the afternoon walking around downtown Palo Alto and grabbing lunch with a friend.

Spotted.  I'd love to have this as a print.
Spring is coming!
Saturday evening, I went to a yummy sushi restaurant in Mountain View called Yakko.  I went all out tonight with an Alaskan roll, a side of brown rice and Tempura ice cream.  The ingredients tasted really fresh, and the staff were so friendly.  Delicious food and even better company!

The title of this roll made me giggle; oh the implications of a 'New Girlfriend Special.'

Basically, Tempura ice cream is fried ice cream.  And this baby was topped with chocolate sauce.

How is your weekend going?

Thank You Ashley!

Ashley, the fabulous blogger behind Everything is Uncharted, was awarded the Liebster Blog Award yesterday!  If you haven't checked out her blog yet, you absolutely should.  Plus, I happen to know her in real life, so think that gives me extra validity to endorse how awesome she and her blog are.

And she decided to pass on the love!  Thanks for the award, Ashley.  Liebster is German for dearest, beloved or favorite, and the award is for bloggers with under 200 followers.

Here is how it works:

1. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them!

2. Award the award to 5 of your favorite bloggers with less than 200 followers & link them!

3. Post the award on your blog!

4. Bask in the love from the most supportive people on the Internet--other bloggers of course!

 5. And best of all--have fun & spread the karma!

And I will be awarding this to these lovely ladies:

Laura @ Life of Lu
Kristin @ Kristen's kNook

Spread the love!

Summer before our freshman year of college.  Thanks for the blog (and real life) love Ashley!

Just Hanging

One of the highlights of my weekend was "hanging out" with all of my favorite friends from UCLA/ADPi at once.  This is the first time we've successfully coordinated a hangout with this many people. From left to right: Ashley, myself, Britt, Jo, Katie and Nicole.

Snapshots of NYE

I had a blast in San Francisco this weekend watching the Bruins play in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl and ringing in 2012 with my friends Ashley and Jo.  After the game, everything we did was so spontaneous and made the weekend even more exciting. Here's a few highlights from our fun-filled time in the city!

Ashley and I hung out at an Irish bar before the game that even featured a confessional booth.
We got to walk on the field to get to our seats at AT&T park.  Needless to say, my dad was jeal.
Country cutie Hunter Hayes sang the national anthem.  He is so adorable!
Go Bruins!  Such a close game :(
Kicking off the festivities, my brave friend Jo opened our champagne.  I think Ashley and I might have a dozen pictures of her hard at work between the two us.
Free drinks at The Holiday Inn Bar.  Enough said.
We got to celebrate our friend Danielle's birthday too, making a fun stop at her apartment.  We officially welcomed in 2012 at a karaoke bar, and it was such a neat experience counting down to the new year and celebrating with two really great friends, some new acquaintances, and everyone else at the bar.  The feeling in the air was magical!

A pizza brunch was the first meal we ate in 2012. Such a great idea Ashley!

This fantastic weekend makes me so excited for future NYE celebrations.  2012, I love you already!
